I have a 3 year old who is terrified of dentists. She needs multiple fillings and her front teeth are badly decayed. She's had 2 dental evaluations in the past 2 weeks and although they have differed on the suggested treatment plan for the front teeth, both have advised that the procedure would best be done under general anesthesia. Even if my insurance covers part of this, there is no way I can afford to go that route as I am a single parent without the benfit of child support. Just the patient portion of the cost without the anesthesia is going to wipe out my savings.
Both have also said that there are other options to partially sedate her, but that with her fear level, she may still need to be strapped down and experience trauma. Are there any alternative methods of getting the work done without traumatizing her any more than absolutely necessary?
